Dr Caroline Bailey (MAPS), Psychologist

Caroline Bailey is the Principal Psychologist of Dynamic Performance Psychology. Caroline offers clients a unique portfolio of skills having dual careers as both a registered Psychologist and High Performance Running Coach.

The common denominator in her roles as Psychologist and Coach is the desire to help people achieve their potential, to provide both practical strategies and emotional support to those striving for personal goals, ultimately leading to greater personal accomplishments and wellbeing. As a mother of two, she also understands the juggle many people face trying to balance the various domains of their life, whilst trying to achieve their dreams.

Primarily working one-to-one with individuals, Caroline also works with personal coaches, managers and teams, and collaboratively within your network of allied health professionals.

Psychologist

Caroline’s early career as a Psychologist began in England, with post-graduate research and consultancy projects in the selection, assessment and development of high potential staff (from Graduate Trainees to Board Executives) for organisations such as Shell Services, British Home Office and Bank of England.

Working for a number of years in Human Resources in a multi-national investment bank, she then held lectureships at London Metropolitan University and the University of Surrey, teaching and supervising postgraduate (MSc and PhD) research. Caroline has published extensively in peer reviewed journals on a variety of topics in performance management and wellbeing, as well as presented at numerous international conferences.

Following her move to Australia in 2003, she held a research position at Queensland University of Technology, working on a large study investigating work-life balance and wellbeing in Construction Workers. Following maternity leave, Caroline ran her own private practice, working principally with high performing individuals and teams, before moving into the role of Psychologist in local schools, supporting young people and their families. She has also provided general psychological services via telehealth for individuals via GP referrals.

Caroline has formal (Australian Psychological Society accredited) training in a variety of psychological approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Positive Psychology and Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy. She will employ therapeutic approaches that best serve your needs.

High Performance Running Coach

A life-long runner competing at national level, Caroline initially worked as a volunteer Assistant Coach in a community athletics club. Moving interstate, she went on to establish a squad of runners through her children’s primary school, and subsequently (with the help of a few running friends) a thriving running club within her local town.

Over a decade later (and a lot of time beside the track) Caroline has coached six athletes to Australian Athletics Nationals podiums (including three national champions) and one athlete to Australian representation at Junior World Championships - all athletes having had no previous running coaching.

With equal satisfaction she has also coached many runners to their first representative team, 5km, 10km, Half Marathon or Marathon finish line. In 2023 she helped a team of 12 young homeless men sleeping rough to complete the Gold Coast Marathon, as part of the 'Off the Street On our Feet' community project.

Caroline has direct experience of supporting athletes in high stakes competition environments. She has held a number of state and national High Performance Team Coach roles: Distance Coach for the U23 Australian Athletics national teams in 2023 (European Tour - France, England, Switzerland, Germany) and 2025 (Taiwan), as event coach for Athletics NSW 'Targeted Talent' Program (2022) and Athletics NSW Junior Nationals state team coach (Perth, 2025).

In 2022 Caroline's capacity for High Performance Coaching was recognised by selection onto Australian Athletics inaugural 'Women in High Performance Coaching' Program (2022-2024). In 2025 she was honoured to be awarded Athletics NSW Country Coach of the Year. She continues to coach five training sessions a week for her local club and supports her high performance athletes with individual training programs and training camps.
